Among the places to visit in Italy, the Tuscan landscapes and villages surrounded by olive trees and cypresses are certainly considered top places to visit in Italy, both for Italians and foreign people. Although we have been living immersed in this kind of landscape for years now, we at Tananei are never tired of so much beauty.
Along the road that leads us from our farmhouse(agriturismo) to one of the most evocative medieval villages of the Valdinievole, Colle a Buggiano, we can understand the reasons. The hilly landscape that surrounds us is certainly relaxing, sweet, inviting you to fully experience the essence of Tuscany. We love to walk immersed in this atmosphere, in some ways old times atmosphere, between rows of cypresses and expanses of our favorite plant, the olive tree. We like walking in these little villages where often there is not even a cafeteria, but only ancient stone houses, rich in history and stories of people, with the scent of ancient walls that “have seen” who knows how many battles in the past, walking on cobbled streets where maybe Guelphs and Ghibellines have fought. We breathe history and nature while walking along these Tuscan landscapes. And then we just have to abandon ourselves to another of the greatest typically Italian pleasures; the food. Yes, because after a full of nature the desire for a snack based on simple and typical Tuscan foods always takes us. It should be noted that between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, just below this road, in Borgo a Buggiano, it was full of taverns and inns available to the numerous passing travelers. We too can consider ourselves privileged travelers who cross these roads for pure pleasure, passionate about landscape and good food. Maybe we can treat ourselves to a "farm to table" experience, to taste zero km food produced on site, or to try a good olive oil tasting, as EVO Oil is one of the most typical products of this area; both experiences that you can try at our farm, after an unforgettable walk among these villages of the Valdinievole!
